Logging
The Logging section provides visibility into the warnings, errors, and operational events generated during message processing. Logging helps you understand what happened, when it happened, and how SyncHive handled each message.
Note: Log messages are retained for two months, giving you their history to investigate issues and verify integration behaviour.
Logs allow you to:
- Browse error, warning, info, and debug events
- Filter activity across integrations, shapes, and time frames
- Drill into specific journeys using a journeyId
- Understand why messages reached their final outcome
- Confirm whether an issue occurred on the inbound or outbound side
- Identify patterns, recurring errors, or connector-specific problems
The Logging area is divided into two screens:
- General - broad log browsing with full filtering capabilities
- Correlation - focused view for a single message journey using correlationId (journeyId)
Each screen serves a different purpose, depending on whether you’re exploring system-wide behaviour or investigating a specific record.
Filters Available in General Logging
- Integration – Select one integration or view all.
- Shape – Filter by the specific SyncHive shape or entity type.
- Time Range – Choose a start and end date to focus on a particular period.
- Event Level – Show only errors, warnings, info, or debug events (any combination).
- Direction – Limit results to inbound or outbound processing.
- Message Outcome – Filter by the message’s final state (e.g., successful, pending retry, failed, stuck, deleted).
What You See in the Results
- Timestamp - when the event was recorded
- Log header - the event type and code
- Integration
- Shape
- Event level (error, warning, info, debug)
You can scroll through entries, adjust filters, and click into specific items for deeper investigation via other tools, such as Locate Message.
Correlation Logging View
Use the Correlation view to investigate the logs for a specific message journey. Enter the correlationId (journeyId) to display all events associated with that journey. You can further refine the results using additional filters such as:
- Integration
- Event level
- Direction (inbound or outbound)
Each log entry will also show:
- Timestamp
- Event type and code
- Shape
