4003W: Could not reach external system
What does this mean?
The 4003W: "Could not reach external system" error signifies that there's a temporary disruption in the communication flow within SyncHive. Specifically, this disruption occurs either because SyncHive is unable to establish a connection with a Connector or because the Connector itself is unable to reach an external application. The underlying reasons for this issue could be:
- Intermittent network connectivity issues.
- External servers undergoing a restart.
- The targeted record being accessed or modified by other users in the external application.
These causes are typically temporary and may be automatically resolved by SyncHive during subsequent retries.
How does SyncHive handle it?
SyncHive automatically tries to save the data again for up to 48 hours at set intervals, aiming to mitigate any temporary issues. This retry mechanism is designed to ensure data is saved without requiring immediate user intervention.
When does this happen and what can I do about it?
This error usually resolves itself. However, if you notice the error persists for more than 48 hours, resulting in a dead-lettered message, it's advisable to contact SyncHive support. Doing so allows our team to investigate and address the issue directly.
