Subscriptions & Billing
Everything related to subscriptions, payments, Hive plans, and token usage is managed at the workspace level on the Billing page.
Workspace Subscriptions
A workspace can have only one active subscription at a time. The subscription determines which Hives are included and provides the tokens available to the workspace.
Individual Hives can use different Hive sizes and pricing tiers while remaining under the same workspace subscription.
Free Trials
You can explore SyncHive without adding a credit card.
Free trials never automatically convert into a paid subscription. A paid subscription begins only when you choose a subscription and payment is successfully processed.
Trial and Purchased Tokens
Any tokens received through a trial or purchased separately remain attached to your workspace.
These tokens do not expire simply because:
- A subscription is cancelled
- A workspace becomes inactive
- Hives are removed
If you later return and reactivate your workspace, your remaining token balance is still available.
Billing Overview
The Billing page is the central location for managing your workspace subscription.
From here you can view your subscription status, billing details, token balances, Hive subscriptions, and payment methods.
Token Balance
The Token Balance section provides a breakdown of the tokens available to the workspace, including monthly subscription tokens, purchased tokens, rollover tokens, and tokens already consumed.
Additional tokens can be purchased when required.
Hive Subscriptions
The Hive subscription panel shows all Hives in the workspace, including their size, pricing, subscription status, and storage usage.
From this section you can:
- Create new Hives
- Update Hive details and subscription plans
- Cancel Hive subscriptions
- Re-activate previously cancelled Hives
- Permanently delete Hives
Cancelling a Hive subscription removes the Hive from the workspace subscription but does not delete the Hive or its data.
To permanently remove a Hive, its subscription must first be cancelled. Once cancelled, the Hive can be deleted separately.
Hive Statuses
Each Hive has a status that reflects its subscription and token availability.
Active
An active Hive is fully operational. Users can access the Hive, integrations continue processing data, and token-consuming actions are available.
Inactive
An inactive Hive is not covered by an active subscription or trial.
A Hive typically becomes inactive when its subscription ends.
While inactive:
- Users cannot access the Hive
- Processing is paused
- No tokens are consumed
- No inbound or outbound processing occurs
Inactive Hives can be reactivated by adding them back to an active workspace subscription.
If an inactive Hive is not reactivated, the Hive and its associated data are automatically deleted after 90 days.
Out of Tokens
An out-of-token Hive has no available tokens remaining.
Users can still access and configure the Hive, but actions that consume tokens are unavailable until additional tokens become available.
While out of tokens:
- Data processing is paused
- Connected applications do not exchange data
- Exports are unavailable
Normal processing resumes automatically once tokens become available again.
Billing Contact
The billing contact email is used for billing and subscription-related communications for the workspace.
Keep this email address up to date to ensure important account information is delivered to the correct recipient.
Payment Methods
All Workspace Administrators can:
- Add a payment method
- Update payment details
- Remove payment methods
At least one valid payment method is required to maintain an active paid subscription.
Billing Dates
Every workspace has a recurring billing date.
The billing date is established when:
- A subscription is first activated
- A previously cancelled subscription is restarted
If a billing date falls on a calendar day that does not exist in a particular month, such as the 31st, billing automatically occurs on the final day of that month.
Cancelling a Subscription
When a subscription is cancelled:
- Hives that were included in the subscription become inactive at the end of the current billing period
- Billing stops after the current billing cycle ends
If a subscription later becomes active again, a new billing date may be assigned.
